2004 Gridley Cabernet Franc - Deep ruby in color with perfumes of black berries, currant, dark cherry and a touch of cedar, white pepper and rosemary. September 14, 2006
WineX Magazine - Just Wine Points
2005 Gridley Cabernet Franc - 94 points.
David Thompson, Napa Wine Project
2004 and 2005 Gridley Cabernet Franc - The 2004 has some exotic spices in the nose with touches of cedar. The mouth feel is oh so smooth and velvety with great fruit. The palate finds notes of raspberries, black cherry and current. The 2005 is again a very aromatic wine but the nose is more fruit driven then the 2004. Elegant is a word that can easily describe the bouquet on this wine.
It's Time for Wine
2004 Gridley Cabernet Franc - Cabernet Francs are becoming "hot" in the Napa Valley, and we will, in fact, be writing about some of the best quite soon. Let us prime your palate with an early (and strong) recommendation that you search out the 2004 Gridley Family Cellars ($45). But only if you like your wines to come at you with a pronounced blueberry flavor, layer out with wisps of white pepper, and finish for a long minute with an explosion of fresh spices.
